Baltimore Woods Nature Center
Baltimore Woods Nature Center (BWNC) would like to establish an annual exhibit for the summer months featuring nature-themed photos by our full time employees and camp staff.
This exhibit of photos will enable the community to become better acquainted with staff at BWNC through art and storytelling and learn about, connect with, and appreciate nature at the same time.
We view art as a way to connect people to nature, and this exhibit would be an effective way to do so. It is intended to educate, entertain and bring the summer community at Baltimore Woods closer together. Nature of New York State will be presented through the eyes of approximately two dozen nature enthusiasts resulting in a variety of subjects and perspectives. There is potential for the audience to learn about new places to visit, scientific facts about the world around them and the emotions of others brought on by nature.
By presenting an example, visitors to the exhibit, especially campers, may be inspired to look at nature in a different way, perhaps looking more closely and documenting their findings from BWNC and beyond, through photography.
Everyone who visits the Interpretive Center at BWNC will be able to view this show for free. More specifically, all of the campers and their families will be able to see and enjoy their counselors’ favorite natural places and animals.
